Dancing Ballerina Illustration

This artwork means a lot to me. When my daughter was young she took ballet. My wife and I would take her to practice but we couldn’t go into the practice hall while they were practicing so we waited in the waiting area. They had an open practice one day and we saw her doing her dancing and I was able to take some pictures of her. As a father I was so proud of her and in my eyes she was my little dancing ballerina. I took a picture of her feet and she was practicing her stance. She didn’t have it quite right but I was still impressed. I drew this picture as a representation of her feet and what it would like in the future when she has the stance down perfectly. I also drew it as inspiration to other young African American girls to show them that they can do ballet as well. It’s still a fantasy of mine to come see her perform in a grand recital one day…
