I Heart NY Word Illustration

So I kind of have a love/hate relationship with New York. Even though I grew up in Brooklyn and most of my years have been spent in New York, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really interesting place and there are tons of things to see and do, but I can’t help but remember the poverty I grew up in and the negative influences all around me as a child. I told myself I would never again live in New York. (Although I don’t mind visiting from time to time). This piece of art is my token of appreciation of the State that I grew up in. The words are made up of the boroughs of New York all the way from upstate down to the big city.
